Her cry woke Shiva who was then asleep. God flung His 'Trishul' at the demon. After realising His mistake, Lord Shiva returned the demon his life. This is the site where Sudheet sought salvation. After this incident, the place has got the name of Sudh Mahadev. It is believed that the temple still has the remains of the 'Trishul'.

It is a 5 km trek from Patnitop hill station that lies along the Sanasar Road. The area of Madhotop remains enveloped with thick snow during winters that beckons many skiers.
